Dalchini
(Cinnamomum zeylanicum) reduced total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol
and triglycerides while increasing HDL-cholesterol; reduce spasms, reduce gas
(flatulence), and stimulate the appetite. Cinnamon might also increase blood
flow. Cinnamon also contains a chemical that might work like insulin to lower
blood sugar.
Guggul (Balsmodendron mukul) the
major benefit can be figured out in terms of cholesterol and weight management.
Regular intake of Guggul supplements is very effective for reducing weight and
cholesterol levels in the human body. Guggul has an ability to bring the blood Cholesterol
to normal level. It also increases the liver metabolism for bringing bad cholesterol
levels up to LDL ratio.
Lahsun (Allium sativum) has been
widely studies for its cholesterol-lowering properties. Garlic emulsifies
cholesterol and also loosens it from the walls of arteries. Besides lowering
cholesterol levels, garlic also has a host of other benefits to the body – it
strengthens the immune system; is a natural antibiotic which fights infections
and kills harmful bacteria throughout the body; has anti-inflammatory effects;
reduces high blood pressure; alleviates gas and bloating; and is a general
digestive aid.
Methi
(Trigonella foenum graecum) help by lowering the synthesis and absorption
of cholesterol. It lowers the bad cholesterol in the blood but not the good
cholesterol.
Arjun (Terminalia
arjuna) is useful as an anti-ischemic and cardio protective agent in
hypertension and ischemic heart diseases. It reduces the level of triglycerides
and cholesterol and has been reported to enhance the synthesis of
LDL-apoprotein (apoB); inhibits the oxidation of LDL and accelerates the
turnover of LDL-cholesterol in liver. This enhances the elimination of
cholesterol from the body. Arjun also reduces the effects of stress and
nervousness on the heart and relieves hypertension (High blood pressure).
Mulethi
(Glycyrrhiza glabra) helps to keep regular heart beat and rhythm as
well as restore hormonal balance and detoxify the liver. The
chemical compounds in the roots of the plants are known to combat high
cholesterol.
Alfalfa
(Medicago sativa) seeds are known to contain saponins that help
to prevent plaques that lead to heart attacks and lower cholesterol.
Haldi
(Curcuma longa) is lowering cholesterol, reducing risk of stroke and heart attack
as well as eczema. It is used for arthritis, heartburn (dyspepsia), stomach
pain, diarrhea, intestinal gas, stomach bloating, and loss of appetite,
jaundice, liver problems and gallbladder disorders. It is also used for
headaches, bronchitis, colds, lung infections, fibromyalgia, leprosy, fever,
menstrual problems, and cancer.
Shilajit ext.
(Asphaltum punjabinum) helps reduce the accumulation of fatty substances,
cholesterol, and other cellular wastes in the inner lining of the arteries. It
also prevents LDL cholesterol from being damaged by the free radicals and thus
prevents generation of "foam cells" which also accumulates inside the
arteries leading to even atherosclerosis and cardiac failure.
